"Service Delivered With Heart," isn't just a tag line - it's the way we do business AND the way we conduct ourselves in all aspects. S-2 is always looking for new opportunities to show our heart.
Currently, S-2 is working to support Backpack Buddies, a program centered around offering food to homeless school-aged kids within Henry County. All to often the only meals these kids get are the meals provided by school breakfast and lunch. The Backpack program provides these kids with a backpack full of food on Friday afternoons and they return the backpack on Monday. You can make a donation to this great cause by stopping in to S-2 at 395 McDonough Pkwy, McDonough 30253 and dropping off food items into the labeled bin at the entrance Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. NOTE: You'll need to ring the buzzer to be let in. Some examples of items to donate are as follows,
- Fruit cups
- Juice/drink boxes
- Cereal bars
- Individual cereal boxes
- Individually wrapped sandwich crackers
- Applesauce cups/squeezable fruit
- Nonperishable individual bagged or wrapped snacks
- Canned meals with pop-top or peel of lids (ravioli, mac-n-cheese, beef stew etc.)
Please have your donations in by 11/18/16.
Also, S-2 is a presenting sponsor at the Haven House Hold 'Em event on 10/19/2016. It is open to the public and you can go on the Haven House web page at www.henryhavenhouse.org to buy tickets.
Haven House is a non-profit that gets very little government funding. Most of their support comes through individual and corporate donations. We are committed to helping this great organization which supports women, and often their kids, escape domestic abuse and get on their feet again. Please consider attending this event if you like to "gamble", have a good time, and of course contribute to a great cause.
Check out this Community Spotlight video on Haven House and this upcoming charity event. Little shout out to S-2, MEADtrans, and our owners, Chris and Jennifer Mead at 15:22!
